🏠 How to Stencil Walls

🧼 Preparation

  • 🧹 Clean the wall: Make sure it’s dust-free.
  • 🛒 Gather supplies:
    – Stencil
    – Painter’s tape
    – Acrylic or latex paint
    – 🟦 Dense foam roller
    – 🪣 Paint tray
    – 📰 Old newspapers

📝 Steps

  • 📍 Attach the Stencil
Secure your stencil at the starting point (usually a top corner) with painter’s tape.
  • 🎨 Load the Roller
Dip the roller lightly into paint. Roll off excess on a paper towel—roller should look colored, not soaked!
  • 🖌️ Apply Paint
Gently roll the paint over the stencil. Less is more! Use multiple thin layers for crisp edges.
  • ➡️ Repeat
Carefully align the stencil for repeats and continue.
  • 👀 Remove & Reveal
Gently peel the stencil away before the paint fully dries.
  • 🧽 Fix Mistakes
If you paint outside the stencil, wipe it off with a moist tissue while still wet.
  • 🧼 Clean Up
Wash your stencil with warm water and a soft dish brush. Lay flat to dry.

💡 Pro Tip:
Test on cardboard before your wall! No need to clean the stencil after every repeat unless colors change or paint builds up.
